Hey, I’m Sophi. I’m a director based in Berlin, half Italian, half German, and grew up kind of everywhere—Italy, Curaçao, Mallorca, Heidelberg… now Berlin feels like home (for now). 

I studied film in Mallorca and got my BA at Catalyst here in Berlin and have been making short films ever since. Most of them focused on women and the quieter, sometimes messier parts of life. I love telling emotional, grounded stories that feel real, but right now I’m also working on a comedy for the first time, which is wild and fun and definitely out of my usual zone. 

I’m also co-writing my first feature film with my mom (yes, really), and the plan is to co-direct it too. It’s a very personal story, and one I’m really proud of. 

Outside of film, I’m probably at the gym, or hanging out with my extremely dramatic cat.
